The jaw plate, also called jaw die, is the main wear part of the jaw crusher. A set of jaws usually consists of a fixed jaw plate and a swing jaw plate. On the market, jaw plates come in a variety of models and sizes, depending on the jaw crusher model.

During the crushing process, the surface of the jaw plate and the crushing teeth will be constantly squeezed and impacted by the material. The impact and wear to a certain extent will cause the jaw plate to fail, resulting in unqualified material particles and even the shutdown of the entire production line. Therefore, the production quality and material selection of the crusher jaw plate is very important.

AGICO is a professional cement equipment and cement equipment spare parts manufacturer. We produce all kinds of accessories for crushing equipment, such as fixed jaw plates, swing jaw plates, cheek plates, toggle plates, crusher springs, crusher rotors, crusher hammers, etc.

AGICO manufactures crusher jaw dies in various materials, colors, and sizes. As long as you provide us with detailed CAD or PDF drawings or specific dimensions, we can CUSTOMIZE the product to your satisfaction.

Working Principle

The crushing module of the jaw crusher is mainly composed of a fixed jaw and a movable jaw. The electric motor drives the belt and the pulley and moves the movable jaw up and down through the eccentric shaft. When the movable jaw rises, the angle between it and the fixed jaw becomes smaller, and the movable jaw plate and the fixed jaw plate squeeze the material to achieve the purpose of crushing. When the movable jaw descends, the angle between it and the fixed jaw becomes larger, and the crushed materials are discharged downward.

We can produce jaw plates of various materials for customers, such as high-manganese steel jaw plates, medium-manganese steel jaw plates, high-chromium cast iron jaw plates, medium-carbon low-alloy cast steel jaw plates, etc.

High-manganese Steel Jaw Plate

High-manganese steel refers to alloy steel with a manganese content of more than 10%, which has good impact load resistance and is the traditional material for the jaw plate of the jaw crusher. Due to the special structure of the jaw crusher, the jaw plate wears fast. In order to improve the service life of the jaw plate, we usually add Cr, Mo, W, Ti, V, Nb, and other elements to modify the high-manganese steel or carry out dispersion strengthening treatment on the high-manganese steel to increase its initial hardness.

Medium-manganese Steel Jaw Plate

Composition (%) of medium-manganese steel: 0.7-1.2C, 6-9Mn, 0.5-0.8Si, 1-2Cr, and other trace elements such as V, Ti, Nb, rare earth, etc. The actual service life of the medium-manganese steel jaw plate is more than 20% higher than the high-manganese steel jaw plate, but the cost is equivalent to the high-manganese steel jaw plate. In practical application, it is a jaw plate worth popularizing for small and medium jaw crushers.

High-chromium Cast Iron Jaw Plate

High-chromium cast iron has high wear resistance, but poor toughness. Generally, we cast or bond high-chromium cast iron on the high-manganese steel jaw plate to form a composite jaw plate. The wear resistance of this jaw plate is more than 3 times higher than before, and the service life is significantly improved.

Medium-carbon Low-alloy Cast Steel Jaw Plate

Medium-carbon low-alloy cast steel has high hardness (≥45HRC) and moderate toughness (≥15J/cm²). It can change the hardness and toughness within a certain range through the adjustment of composition or heat treatment process to adapt to different working conditions. The service life of the medium-carbon low-alloy cast steel jaw plate is more than 3 times longer than that of the high-manganese steel jaw plate.
